In 2019, the cultural cooperative “Dima Cinema” was born from a simple observation: The Algerian author’s cinema knows today a rise and a richness which often escapes the existing circuit of diffusion, and an Algerian film industry which hardly develops.
At the origin of this cooperative, two film enthusiasts: Laila AOUDJ and Amine HATTOU (the founders), both, respectively, former Artistic Director of the RCB and former founder of Bejaia Film Laboratory. With their many years of experience in the cultural and cinematographic field, the will to create a dynamic of film distribution in Algeria throughout the year was quickly apparent.
It was then a question, for the founders, of translating strong personal commitments into professional commitments, by launching their own cinema label “Dima Cinéma”.
